Summary
- Files your customers upload are stored as private files in your own site’s Media Manager, in the “Attach Files to Orders” folder. Wix stores them; we don’t receive a copy.
- To connect each file to the right order, the app keeps a short record of each upload (file name, size, type, product, and the anonymous Wix visitor ID or member ID of the uploader) in a collection on your site, until the order is placed or the upload is abandoned.
- For each order with files, the app keeps the order number, the buyer’s name and email, the items and the file names in a collection on your site, so you can see them on the order page and the Files page.
- We operate no servers or databases that hold your Wix data. The app is hosted by Wix.
- We don’t sell or share personal information, don’t use it for advertising, and add no tracking code to your site.
Who we are
Attach Files to Orders (“the app”) is developed by Yairix Studio (“we”, “us”). For the limited personal information we process ourselves (described below), we are the data controller:

Scope
This policy covers the Attach Files to Orders app for Wix Stores and the pages about it on this website. It applies to Wix site owners who install the app (“you”) and their collaborators, and describes how the app handles the data of your shoppers on your site. Wix’s own processing is covered by Wix’s privacy policy, not by this one.
Data the app uses
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Files your shoppers upload (photos, artwork, documents and other files they choose) | To deliver them to you with the right order | In your site’s Media Manager, as private files, stored by Wix. Not stored by us |
| For each upload: the file name, size and type; the product, variant and upload field it was uploaded for; and the anonymous Wix visitor ID or member ID of the shopper who uploaded it (your Wix user ID for your own test uploads in the Editor or a preview) | To connect the file to that shopper’s order, and to check required files in the cart and at checkout | In the app’s collection on your site, stored by Wix. Removed when the order is placed, or after the abandoned-upload period (7 days by default) |
| For each order with files: the order number, the buyer’s name and email, the ordered items (product name, options and quantity), the upload field, and the names, sizes and types of the files | To show the files on the order page and the Files page, and to flag orders that are missing a required file | In the app’s collection on your site, stored by Wix. Not stored by us |
| A “Files: …” line with the file names, on each ordered item that has files | So the file names appear on Wix’s own order page | On the Wix order itself. Added through Wix’s order editing, without notifying the buyer |
| Your upload fields and settings: titles, instructions, file types, limits, which products they apply to, and how long files are kept | To show the upload box the way you set it up | In the app’s collections on your site, stored by Wix |
| Product names, IDs, page addresses and categories; the cart or checkout being checked; new orders; your plan (Free or Pro) | To let you assign fields, link a shopper back to the product page, check required files, collect each order’s files, and apply plan limits | Read through Wix APIs when needed. Only what is listed above is saved |
The app doesn’t use payment or inventory data, and never changes your products, prices or your store’s buttons. The only change it makes to an order is the “Files: …” line on its items.
Your shoppers
On your product pages, the upload box runs in the shopper’s browser. A file the shopper chooses goes straight from their browser to your site’s Media Manager, through a private upload address the app issues for that file. The app knows the shopper only by the anonymous visitor ID or member ID that Wix assigns; the box doesn’t ask for a name or an email. The buyer’s name and email come from the order. The upload box sets no cookies of its own, uses no local storage, and includes no analytics, advertising or tracking code. A shopper can see and remove only their own uploads, and only until the order is placed.
Files can contain personal information, such as photos of people. You decide what your upload fields ask for. Tell your shoppers about it in your own site’s privacy policy.
How processing works
- The dashboard pages, the order page card and the products list menu run inside your Wix dashboard. They read and write the app’s collections and your Media Manager through Wix APIs, with the permissions you approved.
- The app’s backend (the upload checks, the cart and checkout check, and the step that collects files when an order is placed) runs on Wix’s servers as part of the app, not on servers we operate.
- Downloads use links that Wix Media creates for each request and that expire after a short time. A file’s public link doesn’t open.
- Nothing is sent to us or to any third party. We operate no servers or databases that receive or hold Wix data, and we don’t open your shoppers’ files.
- When the dashboard opens, it also loads a short public list of our other Wix apps from www.yairix.com, for a “More apps” section. That request contains no store, customer or account data. Like any web request, it reaches our website host (Wix) with technical data such as your IP address and browser type, which we don’t use to identify you.
Roles: you, Wix and us
- You, the site owner, control your store data and your shoppers’ files and data: you decide what to ask for, how long to keep it, and what to do with it.
- Wix hosts your site, your Media Manager, the app’s collections and the app.
- We provide software that runs on your site and in your dashboard. We don’t receive or hold your store data or your shoppers’ files.
No sale or sharing
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act).
- We do not use any data or files from your store for advertising, profiling, or training machine-learning models.
This website
This website is hosted by Wix. We haven’t added analytics, advertising or tracking tools to it, and the pages don’t set cookies themselves. Like any web host, Wix processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver and secure the site, as described in the Wix Privacy Policy. The studio contact form is covered by the Yairix Studio privacy policy.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if included) and whatever you write, and use them only to reply and help you. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), which processes messages under its own privacy terms. Please don’t send us your shoppers’ files unless we need one to fix a problem.
Retention and deletion
- Shoppers’ files stay in your Media Manager for the time you choose in the app’s settings: forever (the default), or 90 days, 1 year or 2 years after the order. Then the app moves them to the Media Manager’s trash, where Wix keeps them under its own rules and you can restore or delete them. You can also delete any file yourself in the Media Manager at any time.
- Uploads that never reach an order (for example, from an abandoned cart): after the abandoned-upload period, 7 days by default, the file moves to the trash and its upload record is removed.
- Upload records of files that reached an order are removed once the order’s record is written.
- Order records stay in the app’s collection on your site. When a file’s retention period ends, its file details are removed from the record; the order number, the buyer’s name and email and the items stay. The “Files: …” line stays on the Wix order as part of Wix’s order record.
- Uninstalling the app stops all processing. The files stay in your Media Manager until you delete them. Wix handles the app’s collections on your site under its own rules for app data.
- Support emails: kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, usually no longer than 24 months.
Security
The app accesses data only through Wix’s authenticated APIs, over encrypted connections, within the permissions you approved. Shoppers’ files are stored as private files: their public link doesn’t open, and downloads use links that expire. The app’s collections can be read and written only by the app’s backend, never directly by site visitors. Uploads are checked for file type and size, and limited per shopper. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is no developer-side database that could be breached.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to data portability. In the EU and UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority; in Israel, to the Privacy Protection Authority. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither). To exercise a right regarding information we hold about you (such as support emails), email us. We hold no information about your shoppers: shoppers who want to access or delete their files or data should contact the store they ordered from, which controls that data.
Children
The app is a business tool for store owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If the app or the law changes, we may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and highlight material changes before they take effect.
